Room Hire

Barnwood Reading Room offers a modestly sized hall (up to 50 people), making it an ideal venue for children’s parties, family celebrations, and community get-togethers.

The hall includes access to a well-equipped kitchen and a pleasant back garden area, providing flexible space for indoor and outdoor activities. We welcome bookings from local clubs, societies, and individuals for meetings, events, and regular activities.

Hire is available at £13 per hour with a £15 admin fee applied to each booking.

The Hall

  • The charge of the Hall also includes use of the Kitchen and outdoor area.
  • There are 8 folding tables, one wooden table, 16 foldable chairs and 34 standard chairs.
  • For bookings with need of a TV, there is one mounted on the wall with HDMI access.
  • A Hearing Aid Loop System is in place for those with hearing difficulties.

Kitchen

Hire of Barnwood Reading Room includes full use of the kitchen, which is equipped with an oven, fridge, kettle, microwave, and sink. A supply of cutlery and crockery is available for hirers, along with a range of cooking essentials including chopping boards, pans, and serving utensils.

Waste bins are provided for convenience, and hirers are asked to leave the kitchen clean and tidy after use.

The Garden

Barnwood Reading Room also benefits from an back garden, providing a safe outdoor space for guests to enjoy.

The garden is ideal for children’s activities, summer gatherings, or simply as a quiet breakout area during events. Hirers are welcome to make use of this space alongside the hall and kitchen facilities.

Garden Use – House Rules

Hirer’s are welcome to make uise of the Barnwood Reading Room garden during their booking. To ensure the space remains safe and enjoyable for all, please observe the following:

  • Supervision
    • Children must be supervised at all times while using the garden.
  • Safety
    • No barbecues, open flames, fireworks, or fire pits are permitted.
  • Respect for Neighbours
    • Noise should be kept to a reasonable level, particularly in the evenings.
  • Care of the Space
    • Please avoid damage to plants, fences, and garden features.
    • Waste bins are provided inside the hall – please collect and dispose of any rubbish before leaving.
  • Shared Responsibility
    • The hirer is responsible for leaving the garden in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the hire period.
